		<description>Well said! If I were in Israel I would vote (probably also for Hadash) for slightly different reasons. Or actually, they may be the same reasons, articulated differently. 


1. The power elite WANT you not to vote. Sure, if you&#039;re going to vote they&#039;d prefer that you vote for the parties most dedicated to preserving their power, but ideally they&#039;d prefer it if as few people as possible voted, particularly the poor and disenfranchised. 


2. There&#039;s no downside to voting. Non-voting is a largely meaningless symbolic act, while voting actually influences the outcomes of votes in the knesset. Perhaps not by much, but every little bit is better than nothing. True, voting will not effect radical change, but even non-radical change is something. And if you don&#039;t believe it, think about Dov Hanin&#039;s achievements in the knesset. Surely those are worth ten minutes of your time? 


3. Idealistic visions of a post-national world are great, but the nation state is going to be around for a long while. And a truly democratic nation state has many advantages that may or may not exist in the post-national world. We don&#039;t know because we&#039;re not there.</description>
